“A container ship struck one of the tower base of the San Francisco Bay Bridge, spilling about 58,000 gallons of bunker fuel oil.At work (about 1.6 mile from where the incident took place) we can smell the oil. It smelled like a tar machine was nearby. When I heard of the news, I walked over to one of the piers during my lunch hour to see if I could see the ship. Apparently, this happened ealier in the morning and it was already gone… but I noticed some oil spills in the water near the pier”
